Five Song Friday: Out of Office Message
This Week: Sleeping In, Sweat Pants and Eating Like an Idiot
These days they call it self-care.
But I prefer “intentional laziness,” “leisure mode” or “going full recliner.”
Whatever words you want to use, I’m not really here.
This is a pre-recorded message because the real me is probably sleeping.
Or pretending to be asleep and hoping that somebody else gets up to let the dogs out.
I hope you had a great holiday season and your transition into the New Year works out just as well.
I’ll be back to regularly scheduled programming next week.
In the meantime, enjoy these five songs.
And thanks for everything.
You are the literal best.
Sincerely,
DJ CrankyPete
Five Song Friday 045
“Motel Room” - Kiss the Tiger
For the record, kissing tigers in a motel room is a bad idea.
“Crétin de terrien” - The Architect, N’Zeng
According to Google, the English translation of this song title is “Earthling Moron,” which is now what I am calling my autobiography.
“Go” - Valley Lodge
You might recognize the opening of this song as the theme for HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. If you were like me, you went years without realizing there was a whole entire song after those first 20 seconds. Now you know better.
“Cookie Scene” - The Go! Team
This track is definitely going on my list of the 10 Best Songs with “Cookie” in the Title.
“You Can’t Put Your Arms Around a Memory” - Johnny Thunders
Nostalgia is a bitch, ain’t it?
